About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Over the Road (OTR) Mobile Unit Driver to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the mobile unit to the proper location. The OTR Driver will operate and maintain the mobile unit up to NEP standards to guarantee client satisfaction. The purpose of this position is to transport remote equipment / studio trailers to and from events and be responsible for setting up / tearing down the trailer before and after assigned events. Additional responsibilities include assisting technicians with installation, operation, repairing, fault finding and servicing of BSI systems for all assigned events. Our preference is for the qualified driver to be located near Hanover, MD, however we will consider a person living elsewhere in the US. Requirements

  • Five plus years over-the-road experience driving a commercial (CDL-A)
  • A valid CDL Class A Drivers License/Clean Driving Record
  • Maintains a clean driving record and DOT Medical Card
  • Must be able to drive 18 and 10 speed manual transmission trucks
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation reporting requirements.
  • Ability to safely drive CDL Class A and B vehicle (automatic and manual transmissions).
  • High school degree
  • Ability to drive/perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to interact with client technical and production staff at remote events.
  • Ability to work Monday Sunday, on an as needed / on-call basis
  • requires 100% travel

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with electronics (e.g. repair and installation) is preferred/Lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Operates company owned and leased trucks to facilitate remote operations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
  • Plans route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Sets up and helps to tear down the support trucks and assists with the trailer as well.
  • Performs routine inspections (before, during and after transport) and performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Arranges for preventative maintenance and repairs to be completed through local Penske facilities and advises Transportation Supervisor prior to arrangement.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Furnishes company representative with all required DOT documentation as required by the DOT.
  • Keeps trailer stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
