About The Position

Pacific Coast Post-Acute in Salinas is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist (OTR) with a focus on Hand Therapy to join their elite rehabilitation team. This is a part-time and PRN opportunity offering premium pay and flexibility. The role involves practicing in one of the largest rehab gyms in the region, featuring a full ADL Suite for real-world recovery simulation. The specialist will lead the hand therapy program for complex post-surgical cases, traumatic injuries, and chronic upper extremity conditions, working in a facility known for its commitment to diversity and excellence, just minutes from the Monterey Peninsula.

Requirements

  • Current, valid California Occupational Therapist (OTR) license.
  • Proven experience in Hand Therapy.
  • Proficiency in manual therapy, wound care, and custom splinting.
  • A commitment to elevating the standard of post-acute rehabilitation.

Nice To Haves

  • CHT certification is a plus, but significant clinical experience in hand specialty is accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the hand and upper extremity, including sensory testing, ROM, and strength.
  • Implement evidence-based recovery plans for tendon repairs, fractures, nerve compressions, and joint replacements.
  • Design, fabricate, and fit custom splints to protect healing tissue and maximize functional outcomes.
  • Bridge the gap between clinical exercises and daily life using our state-of-the-art ADL simulation suite.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the rehab team on all upper extremity and hand-related rehabilitation.
