About The Position
Safely deliver products such as Lay’s, Doritos, and Cheetos to local stores and keep shelves stocked. The OTR Driver operates a tractor/trailer to transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Trips may serve large grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers. Start and end times depend on the awarded trip, and the workweek is seven days.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license.
- Must have at least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles or more than 2,500 accident-free hours.
- Must be willing to work holidays and weekends.
- Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, up to five hours daily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor/trailer for extended periods, up to 11 hours per day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Load and unload trailers, including manual or palletized loading and unloading, using a two-wheeler, and lifting product overhead.
- Transport chips, dips, and other products to grocery stores, manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers.
- Obtain signatures of receipt, pick up returns, complete delivery logs and paperwork, and review invoices or manifests.
- Use an electronic logging device, such as a tablet or onboard computer, and complete pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections.
- Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night.
