OTR Driver Apprentice
About The Position
Safely deliver beloved brands like Lay's, Doritos, and Cheetos to local stores and keep shelves stocked for your community. This role involves completing paid driver training designed for candidates with little to no Class-A CDL operating experience. You will work toward successful completion of a Truck Driving CDL program, with Frito-Lay covering some or all eligible training costs. After training, you will safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from various locations including Frito-Lay facilities, grocery stores, rural storage units, vendor locations, backhaul locations, and other traffic centers. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trailers using manual methods, palletized loading/unloading, four-wheeled carts, or a two-wheeler as needed. You will also complete delivery paperwork, logs, invoices, manifests, proof of receipt, returns, and pre- and post-trip truck inspections.
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to five hours daily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- After obtaining your CDL, you have the ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor trailer for extended periods of time, up to 11 hours per day, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Responsibilities
