About The Position
Givens Transportation is seeking an experienced OTR Dispatch Supervisor to manage and dispatch company drivers operating nationwide. This position oversees day-to-day driver performance while coordinating loads across the country to ensure safe, on-time delivery and excellent service to our customers. This role requires someone who understands trucking operations, can manage drivers professionally, and can keep freight moving efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years OTR dispatch experience
- Previous experience supervising drivers
- Experience using McLeod software required
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service
- Organized and able to manage multiple drivers and loads at once
Responsibilities
- Dispatch company drivers operating throughout the United States
- Assign loads based on Hours of Service, driver location, equipment type, and customer needs
- Monitor shipments and resolve delays, breakdowns, or service issues
- Supervise driver performance, attendance, and daily activity
- Issue verbal and written corrective actions when necessary
- Approve driver timecards and manage driver communication
- Ensure drivers are compliant with DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Work with maintenance on equipment issues and scheduling repairs
- Provide shipment updates to customers when needed
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and operational reports
