We are seeking a skilled OSP Designer II to join our team. The job involves interpreting customer-provided route proposals and incorporating them into Outside Plant (OSP) designs. The candidate will acquire field data for OSP design, import the collected data into the design, and associate the features correctly within AutoCAD to create construction and permitting drawings. They will complete the design of OSP projects, including aerial, buried, and underground, using AutoCAD, Adobe, GIS, and Excel, as well as completing construction unit and material summaries. The candidate will assist with complex ROW permitting and submittents, interpret road construction plans to identify facility conflicts, and make cable assignments for both copper and fiber. The candidate should understand joint use attachment, make ready, NESC requirements, and jurisdictional requirements. They will confirm all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff and attend customer calls. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of fiber/copper counts, be able to complete complex designs, and understand fiber and copper equipment and applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or associate degree in related field
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS and AutoCAD
- OSP Telecom experience (required)
- Detail-focused and well-organized, with good problem-solving skills
- Able to work as part of a team, yet be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Thorough understanding of fiber/copper counts
- Ability to complete complex designs
- Understanding of fiber and copper equipment and applications
- Understanding of joint use attachment, make ready, NESC requirements, and jurisdictional requirements
Responsibilities
