Kansas City Canine Orthopedics is seeking a fifth orthopedic surgeon for this subspecialty orthopedic surgical practice. You will be actively involved in advanced procedures such as ACL TPLO, Arthroscopy, Patellar Luxation, Elbow and Hip Dysplasia repair, Fracture Repair, and Gait Analysis. Our surgeons have extensive training, including PhD research in canine hip replacement, and utilize state-of-the-art diagnostics and techniques like 3D printing and virtual surgery to plan and execute complex cases. Requirements

• Board-certified in surgery, or at least have completed residency training and are in pursuit of board-certification.
• Proficient in arthroscopy, or committed to becoming proficient.
• Perform TPLO, MPL correction, FHO, and fracture repair.

Nice To Haves

• Fellowship status in Minimally Invasive Orthopedic Surgery.
• Board-certified canine sports medicine specialist.
• PhD research in canine hip replacement.
• Experience with Kyon (Zurich) THRs.
• Skill set to do Arthrex CUEs.
• Experience with SynACART instrumentation.
• Experience with circular and linear IMEX ESF instrumentation.
• Experience with 3D printing.
• Experience with preparation, aliquoting and appropriate storage of, and activation of platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow aspirate, BMP.
• Experience with cultured stem cell applications.
• Experience with GaitIV pressure sensitive walkway.
• Experience with extra corporeal shockwave.
• Willingness to add ultrasound if a diplomate of ACVSMR is added.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced orthopedic surgical procedures including ACL TPLO, Arthroscopy, Patellar Luxation, Elbow and Hip Dysplasia repair, Fracture Repair, and Gait Analysis.
• Conduct minimally invasive and open fracture repair.
• Perform osteochondral allograft joint resurfacing.
• Perform allograft tendon reconstruction and repair.
• Perform synthetic joint resurfacing and commercial total hip replacement.
• Perform arthrodeses.
• Perform TPLO, CCWO, CBLO, TPLOs + internal brace, Tightropes, meniscal repair, MPL, DFO, DPO, FHO, humeral osteotomy for medial compartment disease, and complex deformity correction.
• Be involved in industry-sponsored clinical research.
• Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostics and techniques like 3D printing and virtual surgery to plan and execute complex cases.
• Scrub into surgery and support surgeons with patient care (for research fellows/surgical interns).
