Under a physician's direction, this role involves applying and adjusting plaster casts and assembling and attaching orthopedic traction equipment and devices. The technician will assist in patient needs assessment, fitting and finishing services, and applying/removing casts, splints, and orthopedic devices. Patient education on equipment use and cast/traction care is also a key responsibility, along with monitoring patient condition changes and documenting care. The role also includes maintaining examination areas, ensuring equipment availability, managing medical supplies, and providing organizational and clerical support for optimal clinic operation.
