The Orthopedic Technician will greet patients and place them in exam rooms, perform vital signs, and assist with dressing changes. Responsibilities include fitting required durable medical equipment (DME), cast removal, cast and splint application, and assistance with casting procedures under fluoroscopy. The role also involves speaking with patients over the phone to assist with problems and educating patients on care. Support for physician and office activity is expected. During downtime, responsibilities may include those of a Medical Assistant, such as rooming patients.
