About The Position
Incumbent assists physicians and nurses in the medical care and treatment of orthopedic outpatients. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
Requirements
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated completion of extremity immobilization and/or casting workshop within 6 months of hire
- BLS certification upon hire
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to maintain a flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working as an Orthopedic Tech in an ambulatory setting
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
