About The Position

Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring an Orthopedic Tech to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA. This 24-bed unit works with patients that have had Orthopedic Surgery and med/surg patients as needed. The majority of our patients have had joint replacements, spine surgery or hand surgery. The ortho techs on the unit will assist with the mobility of the patients. As an Orthopedic Tech with Sentara, you will work under direct supervision of clinical staff and therapists. You will be responsible for preparing/cleaning treatment areas, positioning patients, procurement and inventory of supplies and transporting patients. Supporting both clerical and clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
One year of prior health care experience preferred.
One year of prior patient care experience preferred.
One year of prior acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the mobility of the patients.
Preparing/cleaning treatment areas
Positioning patients
Procurement and inventory of supplies
Transporting patients
Supporting both clerical and clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans.
