About The Position

The Orthopedic Technician provides professional and competent assistance to physicians in the . Provides assistance with application and management in cast, splint, and brace with Residents. Gives instruction on proper care of casts, braces, etc to patients. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED plus one (1) year of direct patient care experience
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional and competent assistance to physicians with the application and management of casts for orthopedic patients
  • Educates patients regarding casts, splints, or braces following application
  • Collects and records patients' medical history and acquires patients' vital signs.
  • Advises patients regarding treatment, medication, and specific physician instructions
  • Collects lab samples and completes documentation for submission to lab
  • Monitors inventory of and obtains necessary supplies and/or equipment for patient care in the orthopedic unit
  • Performs other duties as assigned
