About The Position
SAMGI is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support our Orthopedic Trauma service at Regional Medical Center San Jose. The APP will work closely with the orthopedic trauma surgeons to provide comprehensive inpatient care management, assist with new consultations, support perioperative care, and participate in operative cases. This role is ideal for providers who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments and are passionate about orthopedic and trauma patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current California NP or PA licensure
- DEA certification and appropriate prescriptive authority
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment
Nice To Haves
- Orthopedic, trauma, surgery, or acute care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Round daily with the on-call orthopedic trauma surgeon
- Evaluate and manage new orthopedic trauma consults
- Assist in the operating room
- Coordinate treatment plans and ongoing patient management
- Provide inpatient orthopedic trauma care and follow-up
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, therapists, and hospital teams
- Ensure timely documentation and communication regarding patient care plans
