About The Position
Seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon for a Locums-To-Perm position in Harlan, KY. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with coverage needed from June 1, 2026, ongoing. The position requires clinical duties plus call coverage, with a beeper call system and a 30-minute response time. The average patient volume is 25 per day, with approximately 3 phone consults. Rounding on assigned patients is included. The support staff consists of 1 Medical Assistant and 1 Office Staff. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center and is stroke-certified. Hospital privileges are required. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be covered.
Requirements
- Active KY License
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Fellowship required
Responsibilities
- Provide orthopedic surgery services
- Manage inpatient and outpatient cases
- Participate in call coverage
- Respond to beeper calls within 30 minutes
- Conduct rounding on assigned patients
- Utilize MediTech EMR system
