About The Position

OrthoAtlanta is hiring an Orthopedic Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations in an orthopedic practice. The role involves helping patients through visits, documenting intake information, coordinating testing and surgical clearances, responding to patient and physician communications, and supporting the fitting and use of durable medical equipment. The position is suited to an organized, communicative team member who can work efficiently in a busy clinic and provide professional, empathetic care while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program, or equivalent experience.
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong professionalism and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of medical office experience is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems; Epic is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with dressing and undressing while ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation.
• Prepare surgical orders; schedule laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures; obtain test results; and manage medical clearances for surgeries.
• Handle patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and use of durable medical equipment, including braces and soft goods, when needed.
