Orthopedic Inpatient Surgical First Assist - Full Time - PA
About The Position
Atrium Health's Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Inpatient Orthopedic Surgical Sports team. This APP will support Surgical physicians and function as an integrated member of the Orthopedic Surgical care team, delivering care across operative, perioperative, and clinic environments. The role is a full-time opportunity with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Responsibilities include surgical first assist, potential office clinic coverage, evaluating and managing orthopedic conditions and injuries, supporting perioperative patient management and surgical coordination, and performing procedures within scope such as splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care. The APP will also interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning. There is no call, weekend, or holiday coverage required.
Requirements
- Licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina as a Physician Assistant
- Graduate from an accredited PA or Acute Care NP program
- National board certification required
- DEA license required or eligible
- Eligible for prescriptive authority through appropriate NC governing board
- BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date
- Minimum of two years of APP experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Orthopedics
