Texas Regional Physicians is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Extremity Physician to join our growing orthopedic team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic and surgical care for conditions affecting the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand) and/or lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle, and foot), including trauma, sports-related injuries, degenerative conditions, and post-operative rehabilitation. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic-based patient care and surgical procedures across TRPG's network of outpatient and ambulatory surgical facilities.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date).
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges at TRP-affiliated facilities in the Houston area.
  • Strong clinical, surgical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based orthopedic care.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Foot & Ankle, Hand & Wrist, or Sports Medicine strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with upper and/or lower extremity orthopedic conditions, including fractures, joint disorders, sports injuries, and degenerative disease.
  • Perform surgical procedures including joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, fracture repair, and soft-tissue procedures as clinically indicated.
  • Provide non-operative management such as bracing, injections, and physical therapy referrals when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in compliance with TRPG documentation standards and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for orthopedic trauma coverage as assigned.
  • Supervise and mentor advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs) and residents/fellows as applicable.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital bylaws, credentialing requirements, and TRP clinical protocols.
