Summit Orthopedics is seeking full-time gap year students for an Orthopedic Clinical Assistant (OCA) program based in the Twin Cities. This program offers opportunities to learn from physicians, shadow other departments, and gain experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting. The role involves providing clinical support for orthopedic care and performing administrative duties under supervision. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, preparing patients for evaluation, fitting and dispensing durable medical equipment, casting, splinting, and other procedures. The OCA will also communicate with patients and care team providers, manage patient records, facilitate follow-up care, and assist with paperwork. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position supporting a physician team or in a float setting, with a Monday-Friday schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, subject to change. OCAs must be flexible to float to various Summit locations and potentially outreach sites.
