The Orthopaedic Surgical Coordinator serves as the primary administrative coordinator for elective total joint arthroplasty procedures, supporting a team of 3–4 orthopaedic joint surgeons and their associated physician assistants. This position is responsible for coordinating all non-clinical aspects of the surgical process, from scheduling procedures through completion of preoperative requirements, ensuring patients are fully prepared for surgery while maintaining efficient communication among patients, providers, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and outside healthcare offices. Working collaboratively with surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, scheduling departments, and insurance authorization teams, the Surgical Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining an organized, efficient surgical workflow and improving the overall patient experience.
