The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and nerve surgery to join their Upper Extremity Service. The department comprises 34 faculty members offering a comprehensive range of clinical orthopaedic services. This role involves a primary appointment within the Department of Orthopaedics, with a clinical focus on hand, micro, and nerve surgery. The position includes general orthopaedic call, hand trauma, elective hand surgery, general reconstructive surgery, and microvascular reconstruction of the upper extremities. Faculty are expected to contribute to the department's missions in clinical care, education (medical students, residents, and fellows), and research (clinical, outcomes, health services, basic science, translational, ethics, education, or global surgery). A commitment to delivering high-quality, valuable clinical care to UNC patients is essential. The selected candidate should be a team player, interact well with colleagues, and is encouraged to participate in outreach to rural referring hospitals.
