About The Position

This full-time Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced orthopaedic surgeons in a collaborative clinical environment, providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care in outpatient and surgical settings. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program required
  • Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in good standing
  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • DEA license or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to collaborative, team-based patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Previous orthopaedic experience, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal care strongly preferred
  • Experience with fracture management and interpretation of musculoskeletal imaging is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and orthopaedic injuries
  • Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative care for orthopaedic surgery patients
  • Assist orthopaedic surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for orthopaedic patients
  • Perform orthopaedic procedures including joint injections, fracture care, splinting, and casting
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, recovery protocols, and long-term musculoskeletal health
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, pain management specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams
