About The Position
The Traveling Orthodontic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) supports the orthodontist in delivering high-quality patient care during orthodontic procedures and treatments. This role assists with braces, aligners, records collection, sterilization, patient education, and maintaining efficient clinical operations.
Requirements
- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
- CPR/BLS certification
- Orthodontic assisting experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental software and digital imaging systems
- Understanding of OSHA and infection control procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Invisalign and digital scanners
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Team-oriented attitude
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for orthodontic procedures
- Assist orthodontist during patient exams and treatments
- Take digital X-rays, photographs, impressions, and intraoral scans
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances as permitted by state regulations
- Adjust arch wires, brackets, and bands under supervision
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care
- Update patient charts and treatment records accurately
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow
- Monitor inventory and order clinical supplies as needed
- Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent customer service
