About The Position

Children's Dental Center of New Hampshire is looking for an Orthodontic Dental Assistant in Amherst, New Hampshire to assist their clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program OR 1 year of experience
X-Ray certification
Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

Certified Orthodontic Assistant
Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
