About The Position

Wentz Orthodontics is looking for a passionate and energetic Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join their well-established practices in both Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska. This position requires travel to both office locations, but will primarily be based out of Fairbanks. Requirements

Previous Orthodontic or Dental Assistant experience is preferred.
Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community
Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating.
Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene.
Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
Provide reports to parents/guardians.
Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
Unload and store new supplies.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the practice.
