Requirements

  • Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is preferred
  • Orthodontic experience strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with dental experience and a positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable attitude
  • Comfort using orthodontic/dental software and digital imaging technology
  • Current certifications and licensure as required by state regulations

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for patients by helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their orthodontic visit
  • Assist the Orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures, including adjustments, bonding, debonding, retainer appointments, and other clinical treatments
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule
  • Take diagnostic records, including digital x-rays, photographs, and scans/impressions as needed
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, retainers, aligners, and post-treatment instructions to support successful outcomes
  • Monitor patient flow and work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient schedule and minimize wait times
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update patient records as needed
  • Follow all infection control, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment area
  • Collaborate closely with the orthodontic team to support exceptional patient care and day-to-day office operations
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
