Requirements
- 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred
- Indiana X-ray license required or currently working toward certification
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with patients and provide an exceptional patient experience.
- Assist with placing and removing orthodontic appliances and adjusting arch wires, elastic ties, power chains, and other auxiliaries as permitted by state regulations.
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, headgear use, and rubber band instructions.
- Take orthodontic records, including panoramic and cephalometric X-rays.
- Maintain accurate patient charts, document doctor’s notes, and review home care instructions with patients and guardians.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming models and fabricating clear aligners.
- Keep treatment areas stocked and organized, and clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments and equipment.
