About The Position

As an Ortho Tech at DMOS working in West Des Moines, you'll help our patients get back to living by taking an important step in their care by gathering basic information to efficiently support the Physician during a patient's appointment. Every day you will work alongside our Physicians and fellow clinical team members to create a comfortable patient experience, ensuring everyone gets seen in a timely fashion. To thrive in this role, you have a passion for patient care and orthopaedic field. This is a Monday - Friday full-time (40-hrs) opportunity, with a 1 Saturday (8AM-12PM) coverage every 6-8 weeks.

Requirements

• Communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Active listening skills: know how important it is to listen, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
• Calm demeanor: ability to provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
• Independent worker: ability to keep yourself focused and know when to ask for help.
• Passion for patient care and the orthopaedic field.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and preparing patients for their Orthopaedic appointment.
• Assisting with casting, cast removal and wound care.
• Gathering basic information to efficiently support the Physician during a patient's appointment.
• Working alongside Physicians and fellow clinical team members to create a comfortable patient experience.
• Ensuring everyone gets seen in a timely fashion.
