About The Position
As an Ortho Tech at Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, P.C., you'll help our patients get back to living by being our patient's kind guide during their orthopaedic appointment. You will be responsible for rooming patients and obtaining basic information about their injury or concern. You will be a casting and splinting expert for orthopaedic injuries. Be a part of a team working alongside of our Physicians in clinic as well as a team of mid-level providers, Rad Techs and administrative staff. Requirements
- Communication skills: communicate clearly and professionally, listen, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
- Eagerness to learn and grow skills in a medical office setting.
- Ability to provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
- Ability to work independently and know when to ask for help.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and obtaining basic information about their injury or concern.
- Casting and splinting for orthopaedic injuries.
- Hands on with casting, splinting and suture removal.
- Reaching, stooping, and walking while assisting patients with their care during appointments.
