About The Position

Provides direct patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with nursing care standards. The role is on a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Spine unit caring for patients undergoing joint replacements, back surgeries, and other orthopedic procedures. The care team considers patients’ lifestyle, function, mobility, and home support when developing care plans and safe discharge plans, with the goal of returning patients to their homes. The position is offered for days or nights and consists of three 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Less than two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver.
• Plan proactively and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values and emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
