About The Position

LMI is seeking an Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA) to join the requirements analysis team supporting the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Operations Division under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in critical thinking, operations research and systems analysis, operational requirements generation, acquisition program lifecycle management knowledge, critical thinking, and relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. This is an Onsite position at the client site, located in the vicinity of Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C., with the opportunity for partial telework based on the client's needs. This position requires an active Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain DHS Suitability. Requirements

  • BS degree, or equivalent, preferably in a STEM discipline.
  • 5 years in systems engineering, systems analysis or operations research related work.
  • Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • Excellent communications skills both oral and written.
  • Experience and familiarity of a government acquisition lifecycle management (DoD or DHS).
  • Proficiency in using MS tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering tasks in support of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) systems.
  • Support mathematical optimization and data-driven decision-making with statistical analysis and simulations.
  • Provide outreach and coordination services with the DHS/FEMA operational components to support requirements generation and facilitate the collaborative development of synchronized requirements for various diverse stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues between stakeholders.
  • Prepare mission area and program progress/status reports, briefing charts, and related materials as required.
  • Attend program reviews, technical meetings, workshops, conferences, site visits, field tests, as directed by the Requirements Branch.
  • Support additional studies and analysis as directed.
  • Take initiatives, effectively identifying and solving problems, and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Develop Requirements Generation Products (Capability Analysis Study Plan, Capability Analysis Report, Non-Material Change Recommendation, Mission Need Statement, Concept of Operations, Operational Requirements Document).
  • Travel as required.
