About The Position

ASRC Federal is seeking an ORION Spacecraft Technician Mechanical, Associate to work at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The role supports production, developmental, prototype, product development, manufacturing engineering, or preproduction operations by performing electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks. Work may involve limited documentation and guidance. The technician constructs assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components from schematics, blueprints, and oral instructions; uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials; and may perform modifications, rework, and quality testing. A strong mechanical background involving harness fabrication, testing, and installation is specified, along with an A&P (Airframe & Power-plant) license.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks.
0–2 years or more of experience.
Strong mechanical background in harness fabrication, testing, and installation.
A&P (Airframe & Power-plant) license.
Must be a U.S. citizen to meet contract requirements.
Must successfully complete a government background investigation.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

Perform electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of production units and developmental or prototype requirements.
Construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components using schematics, blueprints, and oral instructions.
Use standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
Perform modifications, rework, and quality testing as needed.
Apply mechanical experience in harness fabrication, testing, and installation.
