About The Position

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking an ORION Industrial Engineer at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This role is responsible for ensuring mechanical and fluids Ground Support Equipment (GSE) readiness to support spacecraft testing. The engineer will develop detailed work instructions for GSE modifications and repairs, document nonconformances, and work with GSE responsible engineers to restore hardware to design specifications. Maintaining detailed records to meet pedigree standards for GSE configuration management, including GSE precision cleanliness and maintenance cycles, is also a key responsibility. The position involves planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems, and/or systems. Coordination of subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations, as well as performing analysis of test results and preparing comprehensive evaluation reports, are integral to the role. The engineer will also write discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify and validate incorporated fixes.

  • Familiarity with calibration and life limit cycles for hardware utilized for precision data collection
  • Experience with hazardous operations testing to include high pressure gases, propellants (hypergolic) and an understanding of refrigerants.
  • Experience with cryogenics (LN2) utilized in vacuum load servicing and de-servicing
  • Experience working with spacecraft flight fluid systems, such as Propulsion or Environmental Life Support.
  • Experience working with and/or leading a team to include other test engineers, technicians and quality assurance during testing of GSE hardware.
