About The Position
Adelphi is seeking an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to provide mobility and orientation services to students with visual impairments and severe disabilities in Missouri school settings. The O&M Specialist will deliver services aligned with student IEPs using an integrated, functional approach.
Requirements
- Certification as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (ACVREP or equivalent)
- Knowledge of IEPs and IDEA
- Strong interpersonal and instructional skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with students with visual impairments and severe disabilities preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct O&M instruction per IEP goals
- Teach safe navigation and environmental awareness skills
- Collaborate with staff to support student independence
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports
- Participate in meetings and staff consultations
- Ensure compliance with safety and school policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
