About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is seeking to elevate the employment experience of working in schools. We are hiring a full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Jacksonville, NC for the 2026–2027 school year. Relocation assistance available!

Requirements

MUST HAVE Orientation and Mobility Specialist Certification
Successfully completed and graduated from an accredited Orientation and Mobility specific training program through an approved university and have completed all fieldwork requirements

Nice To Haves

Experience as an O&M Specialist in the schools a plus!

Responsibilities

Develops plans and instructs students with visual impairments in the development of skills and knowledge
Implement IEPs, individualized interventions, and classroom accommodations
Build a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with school-based Exceptional Children's/Special Education teams, behavior specialists, and families
Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and team planning sessions
