About The Position

The Organized Crime Retail Manager initiates, conducts, and resolves complex organized retail theft/fraud investigations. Coordinates case investigations related to organized retail crime. Serves as a contact and direct ORC interactions with law enforcement and applicable departments. Partners with departments to create ORC awareness material for store management and team members.

Requirements

• 5-7 Years of Law Enforcement experience or 3-5 years of Retail Loss Prevention or Asset Protection investigation experience.
• Experience in Organized Retail Crime preferred.
• 3-5 Years of experience in conducting surveillance, counter surveillance and covert investigations.
• Thorough knowledge of Penal Codes, Evidence Codes, Civil Codes and procedure for the geographic area encompassing the division.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct criminal investigations, interview and interrogation skills, evidence gathering and report writing for presentation to Law Enforcement.
• Track record of successfully managing volatile situations and ability to interact with all levels of the public from the criminal element to public officials and business leaders.
• Proven ability to testify in criminal proceedings including, Municipal, Juvenile, Criminal Courts and Grand Juries.
• Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality during lengthy investigations.
• Strong supervisory skills with proven track record as a motivated self-starter.
• Able to work long irregular hours in fluid environment without direct supervision.
• Ability to multitask and manage numerous on gong in-depth investigations simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Proficiency in facilitating large group presentations and training.
• Working knowledge of current CCTV systems, portable video equipment and surveillance devices.
• Familiarity with background, asset and property searches at the local, state, and national level.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Asset Protection Director in reducing losses to the Division attributable to Organized Retail Crime.
• Conduct Organized Retail Crime Prevention and Awareness Training for internal and external customers.
• Follow-up on Store Manager Shoplift Incident reports by recovering video evidence and contact with store personnel, approximately 25 per week.
• Conduct criminal and civil investigations and prepare reports.
• Routinely testify in civil and criminal proceedings.
• Analyze business reports, investigator reports, contract security reports and effectively re-deploy contract security assets to maximize the ROI.
• Build and maintain on-going partnership with Law Enforcement, Public Officials and a wide spectrum of the business community.
• Assist Law Enforcement during the execution of search warrants, including identification and recovery of stolen merchandise.
• Impact losses attributed to Organized Retail Crime.
• Conduct surveillance of know ORC suspects.
• The ability to take on call questions on ORC.
