At Network for Hope (NFH), we believe in the power of life-saving connections. As an Organ Recovery Administrator On Call (AOC), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the organ donation process, ensuring effective communication between medical staff, donor families, and transplant teams. The AOC works a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24/7 support and evaluation of potential organ donors based on their medical histories, lab data, and family dynamics. Key duties include determining whether to proceed with a referral, assessing the need for evaluations, and ensuring legal authorization and compliance with policies. The AOC guides organ recovery coordinators (ORCs), interprets policies, and oversees the donor risk assessment process. The AOC also makes decisions about donor testing, organ preservation, and allocation, while ensuring safe and efficient procedures. The AOC handles concerns from hospital staff, approves deviations from protocols, and provides remote support, in particular donation cases. They also manage staffing, prioritize cases, and ensure recipient safety by identifying documentation errors. The AOC participates in team meetings, provides guidance to new staff, and updates leadership on issues that arise.
