About The Position

The Ordnance Mechanic position requires the performance of work assignments associated with assembly and disassembly of missiles and their designated payloads. This role assists in and/or performs tasks related to missile operations such as package, unpackage, modification, repair, checkout, testing, movement, removal and installation of mechanical and electrical components, and installation and removal of payloads and related operations. The position also involves performing tasks directly supporting production operations as directed by immediate supervisors, including classified courier responsibilities, support equipment maintenance, and inventory control. Requirements

  • Possess an entry level knowledge of product final assembly, disassembly, handling, and testing typically gained through a minimum of 12 months experience in an industrial environment or equivalent
  • Familiarity in procedural disciplines and ability to follow a set of instructions
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to use general purpose hand tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Must obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance to start
  • Ability to meet and maintain the requirements of the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration

  • Demonstrated mechanical abilities should be considerable and readily apparent through the description of prior job experience
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance systems
  • Basic computer skills
