This role involves assisting in the direction and coordination of all activities related to the handling, storing, and shipment of ammunition, rockets, mines, and other explosive components at NSW Detachment Guam and its remote operating locations. The specialist will review, process, and analyze ordnance-related policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, evaluating their impact on current operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining 100% accountability of ordnance through processing issue and receipt documents, preparing transportation and storage schedules, and managing hazardous materials transportation across various modes and international/U.S. regulations. The position also requires advising personnel on ordnance matters, participating in audits, ensuring proper hazardous waste disposal, managing specific accounts for training munitions, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. Additionally, the specialist will assist in reviewing allowance change requests and oversee ordnance accounting data via the ordnance information system (OIS) database, providing expenditure metrics and maintaining relevant files.
