Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. This role is responsible for reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The Order Selector will convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas, and sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. They will also sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms, fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines. Additionally, the Order Selector will assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department. This role involves marking materials with identifying information, opening bales, crates, and other containers, and recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed. The Order Selector will weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards, arrange stock parts in a specified sequence for assembly by other workers, and use a computer to enter records. Compiling worksheets or tickets from customer specifications, driving a vehicle to transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment, and completing requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments are also key responsibilities. Preparing parcels for mailing and maintaining inventory records are also part of the role. Regular and reliable attendance is required, along with performing other duties as assigned.
