About The Position

Some call it Order Selector, but we like to say you're an Industrial Athlete. You know how in sports, players go all out for a short time? Like how a football player busts it out for four quarters? Well, you, our Industrial Athlete, keep that energy going for a solid 8 hours, three days a week. As our star player, you'll be handling about 1,500 cases every shift. And these aren't feather-light, either; they're anywhere from 30 to a hefty 72 pounds. Expect a workout: you'll be walking, stretching, bending, and generally moving around. Think of it this way: you'll cover more than 10 kilometers in one day, just doing your job! It might sound like the same play over and over, but it's all about challenging yourself and upping your game. About the hours? Well, this is a part-time role, the schedule is 6pm to 2:30am on Sunday, Thursday and Friday. Due to the nature of the business, you will be required to work on stat holidays some shifts with additional stat pay or time in lieu of. It's a different kind of schedule, but hey, it might be right up your alley. The pay is pretty sweet, and the better you work – fast, safe, and on-point – the more you can make. The starting hourly wage is $31.66 per hour with additional increases every year. A $1.50 per hour afternoon and night shift premium and an additional $1.00 per hour freezer premium is also given if working in that particular area. This position also leads to plenty of opportunities for advancement. Many of our Management and Senior Leaders at Sysco have started in this very position and have grown their career. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
English fluency
High volume warehouse experience using a pallet jack and/or forklift is beneficial
Medium to high level of physical exertion is required; repetitive, continuous lifting up to 70 pounds
Ability to work in a cold/freezer environment
Safety conscious and team-oriented
Reliable transportation to and from work

Responsibilities

Maintains an acceptable level of production and accuracy while selecting foodservice orders.
Loads pallets to ensure safe delivery of products to customers.
Adheres to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
Understands and complies with Sysco’s policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety.
Carries out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training.
Participates in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company, and safety).
Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.
