About The Position

This position is responsible for order picking and can be physically demanding, requiring continual walking, standing, stretching, bending, and lifting. It also requires remembering details of products and customers’ requirements. This is a fix-term 5-month contract position. FreshPoint, a division of Sysco, is the largest produce distributor in North America, focusing on bringing fresh food from the farmer’s field to customers’ kitchens. FreshPoint operates over 30 distribution centers in the US and Canada, targeting regional and national foodservice customers in markets such as catering, healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, and schools, as well as supplying grocery stores and other wholesale suppliers. Requirements

Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.
Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.
Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification preferred.
Voice-directed picking system training preferred.

Responsibilities

Palletize and effectively organize finished products.
Organize finish product cooler and put away at the end of production.
Vigilantly monitor product quality.
Coordinate with other workstations to ensure order competition.
Put away finish product and raw material at the end of the shift.
Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
May assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures.
Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
