About The Position

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. This role involves reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped. The Order Puller will convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas, and sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence. Additionally, the role includes filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and loading items onto trucks. Assembling customer orders from stock, placing orders on pallets or shelves, or conveying orders to the packing station or shipping department are key functions. The Order Puller will also mark materials with identifying information, open bales, crates, and other containers, record amounts of materials or items received or distributed, use a computer to enter records, compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications, and maintain inventory records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Occasionally required to walk.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
