About The Position

Responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting Halperns’ products to fulfill customer orders. Reads batches of printed case labels to select customer orders in an efficient and accurate manner. Retrieves product from designated selection slot. Uses radio frequency scanner to scan products for catch weights or inventory identification. Affixes label to the case in the appropriate manner and location. Uses a pallet jack and places product on pallets. Selects work units in sequential order. Delivers product to the assigned shipping lane in a timely manner. Removes empty pallets from the selection slots and places them in the designated pallet storage area. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device. Takes inventory of materials on the work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment requiring constant walking, ascending/descending stairs or pallet jack platform, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -30 F to 100+F.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).
  • High School / Equivalent
  • Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment
  • At least 1 year of forklift, cherry picker and/or reach truck experience required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule according to seasonal demands.
  • You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.
