Position Summary: Based in Santa Fe Springs, CA this position is responsible for essential job functions related to order entry with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of equivalent/relevant work experience in heat treating or related industry.
  • Requires basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, and related subjects.
  • Requires knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn industry, customer and metallurgical standards.
  • Requires knowledge of computer applications and good understanding of basic math
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews industry and customer specifications to create accurate shop travelers using industry standards, customer paperwork and planning department review.
  • Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate purchase order discrepancies.
  • Assists with other functions as required including answering phone, etc.
  • Brings any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of supervisor.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
