About The Position

A company in North Houston is seeking a highly accurate and detail‑oriented Order Entry Specialist to support a fast‑paced shipping and operations department. This role requires strong typing accuracy, excellent computer proficiency, and the ability to work quickly between multiple software platforms. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working under pressure while meeting strict deadlines. The team is overloaded with workflow demands and needs additional support to keep up with order volume.

Requirements

  • Proficient typing skills (50+ WPM) with high accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple software systems simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines.
  • Experience in order entry, data entry, shipping/receiving, or administrative support.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Self‑directed—actively seeks information and solutions without constant supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of data entry software, ERP systems, or databases (preferred).
  • Familiarity with LTL and package shipping (helpful but not required).
  • Understanding of workflow processes (billing, returns, credits) and how they connect.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or distribution environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enter orders accurately and efficiently into internal systems.
  • Transfer data from paper logs to digital spreadsheets and verify accuracy.
  • Maintain organized electronic files and records.
  • Support shipping processes, including LTL and small‑package shipments.
  • Handle billing, returns, credits, and understand how these workflows tie together.
  • Answer phone calls and emails professionally.
  • Assist with customer inquiries and coordinate information with other departments.
  • Work independently while supporting the overall team.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and errors.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.
