About The Position

The Order Checker performs detailed quality checks for customer orders and distribution center orders, issuing materials and supplies per requests. This role involves documenting transactions appropriately, keeping accurate records, and counting the total number of pallets being shipped per shipment. The Order Checker inspects and examines all material/shipments for quality issues, overages, or shortages, reporting findings to the supervisor and taking corrective action as required. Responsibilities include opening cartons and cases, inspecting loads for shipping requirements, and accurately selecting product and processing orders using manual and/or computerized warehouse management systems. The role also involves checking labels and markings, reading and following detailed instructions, and handling cases and individual-sized products, which includes frequent lifting. Ensuring product is staged and stored safely, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and utilizing computerized systems like RF scanners are key duties. The Order Checker will actively participate in process improvement activities, operate lift trucks or pallet jacks, configure pallets properly, and process required documentation in a timely manner. Reliable attendance and adherence to safety and security standards are essential.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years related experience in SAP preferred.
  • Computer literate.
  • Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed quality checks for customer orders, and distribution center orders, and issues materials and supplies per requests; documents transactions appropriately, and keeps accurate records.
  • Counts total number of pallets being shipped per shipment and documents information for loading.
  • Inspects/examines all material/shipments for quality issues, overages, or shortages and reports findings to the supervisor. Takes corrective action as required.
  • Opens cartons, and cases using blades or other authorized hand tools.
  • Inspects/examines all customer, domestic, and international loads for shipping requirements.
  • Selects product and processes orders accurately as instructed using manual and/or computerized warehouse management operating system.
  • Checks labels and markings on packages as directed.
  • Reads and follows detailed written and/or oral instructions describing customer order requirements.
  • Handles cases and individual-sized products on a consistent basis that includes lifting boxes frequently on-and-off conveyors and on-and-off pallets.
  • Ensures that product is staged, and stored in a safe area and at prescribed safe height.
  • Performs area and order inspection and maintains cleanliness of work areas.
  • Utilize computerized systems to accomplish tasks. Equipment includes but is not limited to the independent use of RF scanners.
  • Actively participate in process improvement activities.
  • Operate lift truck, riding pallet jack, or hand jack.
  • Configures pallets properly to prevent damage to shipments.
  • Processes required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties I conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by General Manager or the customer.
