About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Surgical & Anesthesia Assistant to join our oral surgery team. Experience in a dental or medical setting is helpful but not required. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in oral surgery and anesthesia while working alongside a highly skilled surgical team. We value team players who take initiative, communicate well, and are committed to providing an excellent patient experience. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Six (6) or more months of practical experience as a dental assistant.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Quick learner with problem solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records, scheduling, etc.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
  • Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the doctor during oral surgery procedures such as extractions, implants, grafting, and other surgical treatments
  • Supporting IV sedation and anesthesia procedures, including patient monitoring, documentation, and room preparation
  • Preparing and turning over surgical rooms between patients
  • Maintaining sterilization protocols for surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assisting with pre-operative and post-operative patient education
  • Helping with treatment plans, surgical consents, and clinical charting
  • Supporting inventory organization for surgical supplies and medications
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment
  • Assisting the team in emergency preparedness and safety protocols
