Our Healthcare Digital Transformation Solutions (HDTx) team partners with leading healthcare organizations to design innovative digital strategies that solve their most complex technical challenges. We are growing a team of exceptional technical consultants who are passionate about modernizing and optimizing best-in-class EHR platforms. As an Oracle Health Consultant, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to help our clients enhance their EHR to improve care delivery, patient outcomes and profitability. As the Solution Advisor for Acute Clinical Care, you will be a critical subject matter expert and trusted advisor, bridging the gap between the client’s inpatient clinical needs and the capabilities of the Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium EHR. You will guide stakeholders through complex workflow transformations, driving the successful design and adoption of core clinical workflows within PowerChart, and ensuring the new system enhances patient safety, clinical efficiency, and the user experience for providers and nurses. This role is focused on strategic consulting, detailed workflow design, change management, and achieving tangible clinical and operational outcomes. To excel in this senior position, you must have a strong background in inpatient clinical informatics or clinical applications consulting. You will lead the design of future-state provider and nursing workflows, facilitate the lifecycle of change requests and incident tickets, and provide strategic recommendations on solution optimization and risk mitigation. You will be responsible for assisting with security role mapping and defining interface requirements, particularly for medical device integration (CareAware). Your role will involve close collaboration with key stakeholders—including physicians, nurses, clinical informaticists, and unit managers—to capture detailed requirements, document design decisions, and ensure alignment on a cohesive future state. Success demands a proactive, consultative approach and the expertise to champion the needs of the bedside clinician.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of combined experience in inpatient clinical informatics, clinical solution implementation, or a related role within a hospital setting
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium platform
  • Specific expertise in PowerChart, PowerOrders (CPOE), Dynamic Documentation, iView, eMAR, and CareAware is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in acute care (inpatient) clinical workflows, including provider order management, interdisciplinary care planning, nursing documentation, and medication administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical teams and clinical leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to travel onsite at times working extended hours
  • Candidates must comply with applicable client requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Partner with healthcare clients and other stakeholders to ensure the effective use of their Oracle Health’s HER system
  • Collaborate with a team of consulting professionals to deliver technical solutions to our healthcare clients, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals and regulatory requirements
  • Provide insights on Oracle system workflows, upgrades, system changes and ongoing maintenance while identifying opportunities for system optimization and enhancements
  • Facilitate meetings effectively and efficiently to stakeholders of all levels through the development of clear agendas and objectives, documenting notes and ensuring follow-ups are tracked and completed
  • Serve as the primary consultant for inpatient clinical staff and leadership on all aspects of the Oracle Health PowerChart solution and its related components
  • Provide expert support and knowledge transfer sessions to enterprise councils, local workshops, and client-side solution experts to build their solution knowledge.
  • Work directly with client counterparts to facilitate design workshops, review deliverables, and drive consensus on workflow and build changes
  • Lead the analysis and design of core inpatient workflows, including Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), provider and nursing documentation (Dynamic Documentation & iView), and the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR)
  • Define interface specifications and requirements for medical device connectivity, ensuring seamless data flow from bedside devices into the EHR
  • Assist in mapping clinical staff roles to system security roles and profiles and help define reporting and analytics requirements
  • Act as a lead or driver for testing events, including developing and documenting scripts in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool for integration, functional, and complex coordination testing
  • Provide expert support for cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-go-live sustainment activities, including ticket management
  • Assist in the review of training manuals and job aids to ensure they accurately reflect the configured workflows and system design
