The Project Manager will support the client's Emerging Tech and Innovation workstream, working in close partnership with client organizations to evaluate, integrate, and deliver innovative technologies across the federal enterprise. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional initiatives such as modernization efforts, CDS Hooks integration, AI exploration, and API development processes. The Project Manager will coordinate project planning, stakeholder engagement, agile delivery, and risk management to advance the roadmap and ensure alignment with enterprise and clinical priorities. This position offers the flexibility of virtual work, though it is based in Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred for senior or lead roles
  • Experience with Healthcare IT Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; Oracle Health EHR experience a plus
  • Expertise in Project Management and Technological Innovation
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and support decision making
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments
  • Experience with documentation and structured reporting as well as familiarity with productivity and tracking tools
  • Experience working within the DoD, Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) or Military Hospital System (MHS) a plus
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Candidates must comply with applicable client requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates
  • Willingness to travel to client sites 25% of the time and perform remote work as needed

  • Experience working within the DoD, Veteran’s Health Administration (VHA) or Military Hospital System (MHS) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of projects supporting emerging technology integration, including VA.gov enhancements, CDS platforms, AI pilots, and API modernization
  • Facilitate collaboration across client teams to ensure alignment of objectives, timelines, and technical constraints
  • Support development and maintenance of the roadmap, tracking project status, milestones, dependencies, and delivery outcomes
  • Participate in National Solution Request (NSR) reviews to identify opportunities for new technical solutions that address client business and clinical needs
  • Help define and refine requirements for emerging technologies, ensuring they meet both functional and technical standards
  • Coordinate agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery schedules with product and engineering teams
  • Monitor risks, issues, and interdependencies, proactively driving mitigation strategies and escalation paths
  • Support evaluation and integration of innovative techniques, automated metrics, and analytics to improve delivery visibility and efficiency
  • Prepare and deliver clear communications, project documentation, and executive-level updates
  • Identify opportunities to align emerging technologies with EHR modernization initiatives, improving client and clinician experiences
