Oracle Fusion Functional-Solution Architect

Summit Companies•Mendota Heights, MN
•$190,000 - $250,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Oracle Fusion Functional/Solution Architect will serve as the hands-on functional and technical leader across Summit's Oracle Fusion ERP footprint, owning configuration, troubleshooting, and solution design across Accounting, Financials, Inventory, and Projects while guiding how Summit adopts native Oracle Fusion capabilities over customization. This position anchors Summit's investment in building an internally resourced Oracle team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years of hands-on Oracle Fusion (or Oracle E-Business Suite with recent Fusion Cloud experience) across Financials, Inventory, and Projects, required.
  • Demonstrated hands-on configuration experience in Subledger Accounting (SLA), AutoAccounting, and GL reconciliation.
  • Experience with Project Costing, Billing, and Contracts, including cost allocation and cross-charge rules.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across AP, AR, GL, Inventory, and Projects — able to trace an issue from symptom to root cause independently.
  • Experience leading structured knowledge transfer from external consultants and building in-house capability.
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Ability to translate complex Oracle and finance-process topics into clear guidance for finance, operations, and executive stakeholders.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise across Oracle Fusion Accounting (GL/SLA), Financials (AP/AR/Cash/Fixed Assets), Inventory/SCM, and Projects (PPM).
  • Familiarity with BI Publisher, OTBI, and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
  • Experience integrating Oracle Fusion with third-party systems (e.g., Salesforce, banking platforms, time/labor systems).
  • Comfortable using AI/LLM tools to extend functional and technical range, with appropriate validation before acting on AI-assisted recommendations.
  • Must be able to comply with Summit Companies' Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer-specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
  • Ability to support quarterly Oracle Cloud update windows, which may occasionally require off-hours work.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle Cloud certifications (Financials, PPM, or SCM) preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling an internal applications team (role definition, interviewing, hiring, onboarding) preferred; multi-Business-Unit Oracle Fusion implementations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and support Oracle Fusion across Accounting (GL/Subledger Accounting), Financials (AP/AR/Cash/Fixed Assets), Inventory/SCM, and Projects (PPM) — hands-on, keyboard-level ownership is expected, not just oversight.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex cross-module issues, including accounting entries, SLA rule configuration, AutoAccounting, cost allocation, and reconciliation between subledgers and GL.
  • Drive structured knowledge capture and documentation across the Oracle Fusion environment, and define target-state roles and standards for the internal team.
  • Partner with the Director and HCM Team to recruit pillar functional leads (Projects/PPM, Finance, SCM/Inventory) and shared platform roles, and lead new team member integration into the department through training on team processes, role expectations, and priorities.
  • Architect solutions that span multiple modules (e.g., Financials, Projects, and Inventory together), sequencing complex, cross-functional work.
  • Advise on how Summit can best utilize native Oracle Fusion capabilities, including evaluating whether existing or proposed customizations could be replaced by standard functionality.
  • Own the quarterly Oracle Cloud update cycle: impact assessment, regression coordination, and release readiness across modules.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure quality, timely delivery across active workstreams.
  • Manage relationships with external partners and consultants, including deliverable quality, knowledge-transfer commitments, and engagement oversight.
  • Support executive-level reporting and stakeholder communication, with growing ownership of these responsibilities over time.
  • Responsibly use AI/LLM tools to accelerate research, troubleshooting, documentation, and reporting work, with appropriate validation before acting on AI-assisted recommendations in production.
  • Contribute to a multi-year roadmap for reducing technical debt and streamlining Oracle Fusion configuration across the business.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
